CONFIRMATION 2016

Candidates from St. Andrew's and Gabriels Parishes after receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in May 2016

Twenty young people and six adults from St. Andrew's and St. Gabriels Parishes, pictured top, and St. Alphonsus Parish, above, received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday, May 11th at Middlesbrough Cathedral with Bishop Terence Drainey.
The candidates from the three parishes were prepared by St. Andrew's Catechists in St. Andrew's Parish Hall on a Saturday morning.

FIRST WEDDING OF 2016

The first wedding of 2016 celebrated on April 23rd

Married by Parish Priest, Canon Edmond Gubbins at St. Andrew's Church, Teesville, were Mr. Alan
Thompson and Miss Chantelle Logan of Eston. The wedding took place on Saturday, April 23rd at 4.00 pm.

fAMILIES CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF
THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD

The feast of the Baptism of the Lord

Twenty-two couples who wish to have their children baptised into the Catholic faith gathered at St. Andrew's Church, Teesville on Sunday, January 12th, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

During the 9.30 am Mass, the families were presented to the community by Mrs. Barbara Conway, the parish co-ordinator for Baptism, before being annointed with holy oils by the parish deacon, Patrick Thomas. The short service was conducted by St. Andrew's Parish Priest, Canon Edmond Gubbins, who also led members of the 200 strong congregation as they renewed their baptismal promises.

He said: "The families are all enrolled on a three week baptismal preparation course within the parish and the presentation ceremony is the first step in having their children baptised and what a magnificent way to celebrate today's feast of the Baptism of the Lord."

Canon Gubbins also invited 60 parents who had their children baptised in the parish during 2013; at the end of the service they joined the 22 families on the sanctuary for a group photo, above. Photo by Paul Terry.

Congratulations to 34 children who received First Holy Communion in St. Andrew's Church on Sunday, June 23rd. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION — CLASS OF 2012

First Holy Communion at St. Anne's Church, Eston

Forty one children from St. Andrew's Parish have received the Eucharist for the first time. Six at St. Anne's Church, Eston, on Sunday, June 17th (pictured above), while a further 35 received communion at St. Andrew's Church, Teesville on Sunday, June 24th (below), the Feast of the Birth of John the Baptist. And on Tuesday, June 28th, all 39 of the 41 children came together for a special Going Forth Mass at 7.00 pm in St. Andrew's Church. The special Mass was celebrated by Fr. First Holy Communion 2011 St. Anne's

Thirty five children from St. Andrew's Parish made their First Holy Communion recently. 25 received the Eucharist for the first time on Sunday, June 19th, the Feast of the Holy Trinity at St. Andrew's Church, Teesville and a further ten on the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 26th at St. Anne's Church, Eston. 34 children are pupils at both our parish primary schools St. Mary's in Grangetown and St. Margaret's in South Bank, while one attends Ravensworth Primary School in Normanby. All the children are pictured above with Parish Priest Canon Edmond Gubbins, Catechists, teachers, parish Deacon Pat Thomas and Sr. Maria Varley. Thirty Five children from our two parish schools have been enrolled on the 2011 First Holy Communion Course. They are pictured with their parents at the 9.30 am at St. Andrew's Church on Sunday, February 6 for a special Mass of welcome.
